EU’s AI Rulebook is Coming for Your Operations—Here’s What it Means

Petrodec, the specialist in integrated solutions for decommissioning and part of the Dixstone group, is pleased to announce that the Petrodec OBANA has completed a major decommissioning project on the Amethyst and Galahad gas fields in the UK Southern North Sea (SNS) for Perenco UK, culminating in the first transportation of a rig.

The OBANA, the world’s largest self-elevating heavy lift jack-up vessel of its type, has successfully removed the jacket and topside from Normally Unmanned Installations (NUIs) “Galahad”, and the jackets from NUIs “C1D”, “A2D”, and “B1D” from Amethyst. The OBANA has now returned for offloading to the dedicated decommissioning yard at Vlissingen-Oost (East Flushing) in the Netherlands, where work dismantling the jackets will begin shortly.
The OBANA heavy lift jack-up vessel operates in a decommissioning project in the UK Southern North Sea. The EU AI Act will cover all critical infrastructure for industries like oil and gas. (Petrodec)
